Culture & Entertainment

Saratoga’s first music and drama performances were held in the Theatre-by-the-Glade on the hillsides of Saratoga Creek. These early productions launched the careers of Olivia de Haviland and her sister, Joan Fontaine. Today, Saratoga is home to world-renowned music and drama events. In addition, many community performing arts programs are available to local residents for their active participation.

The Mountain Winery
14831 Pierce Rd. (408) 741-2820
In 1901 Paul Masson purchased land in the hills overlooking Saratoga. Vineyards were planted and a magnificent winery building and chateau were built on the property. With the vine-covered facade of the mountain winery as a backdrop, the bowl of land in front of the antique portals became a festive amphitheater in 1958 for the first of a series of summer concerts. In 1960, the Mountain Winery was designated a California Historical Landmark. The Mountain Winery is a destination spot for corporate meetings and parties, weddings and Summer Concert series. Minutes away yet worlds apart from the hectic pace of Silicon Valley. For more information, please visit www.mountainwinery.com.
